This sacred space holds a story that had to be told.
For the past few months, I’ve been completely wrapped up in a true labor of love: writing a book on the profound heritage of St. Tikhon, timed to honor the 100th anniversary of his repose. At the very heart of this project is the architectural soul of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City. This edifice isn’t just a collection of bricks and mortar; it’s a rich tapestry of faith and history, a quintessential example of traditional church architecture woven into the very fabric of NYC.
To truly capture the spirit of this architectural marvel for the book, I knew I needed a master’s eye. I reached out to the phenomenal photographer Ed “Zorz” Hafizov (@zorzstudios) to help bring the cathedral’s story to life. To say he delivered is an understatement—what he captured is pure fire! He absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Honestly, I’m champing at the bit waiting for the finished book to arrive from the printer. But I simply can’t keep these breathtaking photos under wraps any longer.
