Project Milestone: SD Package Completed for St. Joseph of Optina Orthodox Church

Today we reached another important milestone on the St. Joseph of Optina Orthodox Church project in Chesapeake, Virginia. The complete Schematic Design (SD) package has been issued to the client, and we are now moving forward into the preparation of the Construction Documents.

For every project, we provide our clients not only with a complete electronic set of drawings, but also with a professionally printed hard copy, regardless of where the parish is located. A full-size printed set remains extremely useful for reviewing the project as a whole, discussing drawings during meetings, making coordinated markups, and maintaining a permanent project archive.

The printed package is prepared as a formal architectural document set. Each issued sheet is individually signed and sealed by the licensed architect responsible for the drawings.

Even in a digital workflow, we believe architecture should still be presented as architecture — clearly organized, professionally printed, and ready to be reviewed on the table as a complete set.

Next step: Construction Documents.
